A Thought for Today

One of the most common questions I hear is people wondering why the Latter-day Saint Church is different than any other Christian faith. I tend to focus on the Book of Mormon and how it can bless our lives. The link above is to an article by President Henry B. Eyring about how the Book of Mormon helps us in a very real way when we read it an strive to apply it to our lives. When we exercise our faith and read the scriptures or pray, we are showing God that we are willing to figure out and do what He wants us to do. He is then able to lead us and guide us through the Holy Spirit which brings us peace and comfort in the decisions we make.

First Weekend Back

Do you want to know what the best feeling in the world is for an ASL missionary??? It happens when you or your companion tells a Deaf person that you are hearing and they say in effect, "Oh, I saw you signing and I thought you were Deaf."  Basically the best self esteem boost ever   =)

Conference Weekend

Just to give everyone a heads up, the 180th Semi-annual General Conference of the Church will be next weekend Oct. 2-3  and there aren't any good excuses to miss it!! It is available online and is broadcast on T.V. and radio.  Conference is always absolutely amazing and I encourage you to check it out.

One last time for Summer

Rochester is blazing hot and humid today.  Elder Nightingale and I went to the Strong Museum of play this morning because we thought their was a Deaf event going on.  It turns out that I was out of the loop and it was a Sign Language story time thing for kids.  We are going to NTID tonight to catch a play there so that should be awesome.  Stay posted =)

Mormon.org

I talked a little bit about the new Mormon.org website, but here is a link to my profile.  I really enjoyed making it, it was lots of fun.  I hope many many people take a look at it.
